Inverness Medical Innovations Joins EDMA
EDMA, the European Diagnostic Manufacturers Association is pleased to welcome Inverness Medical Innovations as a new corporate member, bringing the Association's overall membership up to 39 major IVD companies and 23 National Associations.
Inverness Medical Innovations (IMA) has expertise in medical diagnostic testing and health management. A global developer, manufacturer and marketer of professional and consumer medical diagnostic products, IMA is most active in the areas of cardiology, women's health, infectious disease, oncology and drugs of abuse.
The research and development efforts of IMA are directed towards discovering new biomarkers that will allow better management of various chronic conditions, while focusing on enabling individuals to take charge of their own health at home.
The Inverness Medical Innovations health management programs provide interventions designed to cover the entire lifespan from pre-cradle (maternity programs) to end-of-life care (complex care programs). This continuum of services addresses the healthcare needs of health plan and employers, while at the same time enabling healthcare providers to improve clinical outcomes and lower costs.
EDMA looks forward to a fruitful co-operation with Inverness Medical in transforming healthcare by empowering people.

EDMA, the European Diagnostic Manufacturers Association represents National Associations and major companies engaged in the research, development, manufacture or distribution of In Vitro Diagnostic (IVD) medical devices in Europe. Through its affiliated National Associations, EDMA represents in total more than 500 companies (or over 700 legal entities) across Europe. The mission of EDMA is to raise awareness of the importance, usefulness and added-value that diagnostic information can provide to healthcare. For this purpose, EDMA cooperates with European Institutions, patients groups, trade associations, health professionals and academia to support an appropriate regulatory system, to work towards a realistic economic environment for healthcare in Europe and to be an effective voice in globalisation.
